1) Get light and sun.
The lack of sun exposure is responsible for the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that can lead to depressed mood and apathy. Melatonin is produced only in darkness. It Reduces body temperature and makes you feel weak. This is why many people suffer from depression more often in winter than during other seasons. That’s because the nights are longer. If you can not afford to take the sun, you can light up the room with bright light. Lunch outside the office. Take frequent walks instead of driving your car over short distances.
2) Get Busy and ‘Inspired.
You are more likely to overcome feelings of depression, if you are too busy to notice. Live a life inspired activities. Do things you enjoy. You can such as walking in the park, sports, reading books or engaging in any activity that is passion, and anything you want to follow.
Set a goal – an important goal in life. No matter how difficult it can be daunting. A very strong conviction and firm belief can do whatever you want. With this type of attitude you will achieve success to beat the blues.
3) Take a break.-
If you are seriously depressed, first thing you need to do is to take break. Distance yourself from events, issues, matters causing break and rather concentrate or engage in something, which will make you forget your feelings of depression. Engage in some passion of your choice . Listen to music , engage in painting or drawing, water the plants in the garden, view some comedy, have a chat with loving friend. Something you always like will be a great booster for your and reduce your depression.
4) Eat well and stay fit.
Avoid foods with high sugar content, caffeine or alcohol. Sugar and caffeine may give you a brief moment of energy, but later, anxiety, tension and internal problems. Alcohol is a sedative. Many people drink alcohol to “forget their problems.” However, it creates many other health problems.
5) Regular Exercise –
Regular exercise is a destroyer of depression because it allows your body to produce more endorphins than usual. Endorphins are often called “happy chemicals” because of its stress-reducing and happiness inducing properties. Do the exercise of your liking- walking, jogging, running, swimming, cycling, trekking, yoga, aerobic exercises anything would be beneficial for you to fight feelings of depression.
6) Engage in Social Activity -
No man is an island. circle of friends is always there to give moral support. Spend time and share them with useful activities which can provide a very satisfactory feeling. Nothing feels better than group support.. Never underestimate the power of touch. It does feel good when someone pats on the back and some words of encouragement in difficult times?
